Discipline Decisions


 
Decisions remain on the OAA web site for six (6) months after the hearing.


Louis K.C. Cheung and Louis K.C. Cheung Architect Inc. was found guilty of professional misconduct for affixing a seal to a design that was not prepared in its entirety under his personal supervision and direction and engaging in conduct regarded as dishonourable and unprofessional.

Penalty: Four (4) month suspension of his Licence which may be reduced to three (3) months if Mr. Cheung attends not less than a cumulative total of one day of courses administered by the Association, publication, recorded on the Register and pay a portion of the costs to the Association.

Mr. Cheung filed an appeal with the Divisional Court which was dismissed on June 1, 2009 with costs awarded to the OAA.

Mr. Cheung further sought Leave to Appeal with the Court of Appeal for Ontario from the Divisional Court decision. The motion for Leave to Appeal was denied on October 28, 2009 with costs awarded to the OAA.
