Architectural License…what a reward for all the strive, love and patience but this could not have been achieved without the support of my family, friends, colleagues, mentors and God’s love and Grace, Thank you all, for always being there for me through this incredible journey.

Thanks to the two greatest women in my life, my mothers Attiya and Iris for always encouraging me, believing in me and praying for me, Iris and Shahbaz, I know you are proud of me and smiling down at me today.

Many thanks to my beloved husband Asher and daughter Maiya for their continuing support and patience through internship and license.

To Ken Snell my mentor, your wisdom and inspirational words have always guided my paths and continue to lead me forward, accept my heartfelt gratitude.

My past employers Peter Hossack (Mississauga), Greg Chapman (PCH, California), and Cynthia Zahoruk (Burlington), ‘Thank you’ for the priceless life lessons and work experience during my internship program.

And lastly for those of you interns who are considering this seemingly never-ending ‘Internship’, I’d say there is not a more fair exam than ExAC (no they didn’t pay me to say this), please do not compare it to IDP’s, and go the Nike way, ‘Just do it’.

Anthony Provenzano B.Arch. OAA MRAIC
University of Toronto, 1995
Employer: architectsAlliance (Senior Architect) & Anthony Provenzano Architect (Principal/Sole Proprietor).

I would be remiss if I did not acknowledge the tremendous impact that Tom Payne & Bruce Kuwabara had on my development as an architect; I spent the first 7 years of my career with KPMB and that time (through school and immediately after graduation) molded me. Their lessons - on life, as well as architecture guide me to this day and for that I’m eternally grateful. Also, Siamak Hariri, for his early and unwavering belief in me, stands out as a monumental driving force in the early years.

The last 7 years of my career have been at architectsAlliance, and at no point have I ever not looked forward to going to work in the morning. It is an ambitious work place driven by ideas, design excellence and the will to positively shape the city. My peers and colleagues make professional life satisfying, challenging and a great deal of fun – I so very much appreciate all the people at aA, many of whom I consider close friends.

And before these “few words” begin to sound like an Oscar acceptance speech, I have to say that nothing would be possible were it not for the love and support of my wife & family.
