Welcome to the Ontario Association for Applied Architectural Sciences (OAAAS), an association for technicians and technologists working in the architecture field. Through OAAAS, a qualified professional can become a member of the Ontario Association of Architects (OAA) as a Licensed Technologist OAA.

As a Licensed Technologist OAA, you have a greater scope to provide architectural services to clients, whether you work in a large architectural practice, or have your own practice. Under the OAA regulatory authority, you may provide architectural services directly to the public, including designing 4-storey homes, low-rise apartment buildings and restaurants up to 100 seats.

OAAAS was launched in 2003 by the Ontario Association of Architects (OAA) and the Ontario Association of Certified Engineering Technicians and Technologists (OACETT). We establish the education, experience and examination requirements, as well as scope of practice, for three categories of building designers: Associate OAAAS, Technologist OAAAS and Licensed Technologist OAA. The OAAAS program ensures that standards and qualifications are maintained and the public interest is protected.
