Biography

As a self-regulating profession, changes happen when we step up and do something about the issues that are important to our community. Three years ago, I joined the OAA Interns Committee anxious and frustrated with the quality of the internship experience in Ontario. In this committee, I met a dedicated team of volunteers and OAA staff who shared both the frustration and the passion to initiate changes that matter.

Together we have digitized the CERB process into an online logging system, restructured the OAA Interns website to be more user-friendly, added an Intern seat to the Council to voice interns’ issues, and promoted dialogue between Interns, Mentors and Architects by organizing a big art installation & dance party at the OAA headquarters in the Fall of 2017. The experience on this committee has strengthened my passion for improving the profession by demonstrating that short-term and long-term change is in fact possible.

As a registered Architect, I would like to take my involvement to the next level by representing the City of Toronto on the Council and to advocate for transparency, diversity and humility in our profession while responding to issues that rise from a city that is changing at an unprecedented rate. I am a Project Lead at Quadrangle Architects in Toronto, working on multi-unit residential and mixed-use developments and I would bring the perspective of issues associated with the large practices to the Council.
