Michele Gucciardi has 20 years of experience in the architectural design industry. Trained at the POLITECNICO of TURIN in Italy and graduating with a design thesis on the Toronto Railway Lands under the supervision of Aimaro Oreglia D’Isola and Roberto Gabetti, Michele’s early career started in one of Turin’s most successful architectural and industrial design practices; Studio De Ferrari Architetti.
Michele’s return to Canada coincided with the beginning of his collaboration with one of Canada’s leading architectural design practices: Diamond and Schmitt Architects. During the six years at DSAI Michele contributed to the design of some of the most celebrated architecture of the past 10 years in Canada and abroad.
A two year collaboration with Adamson Associates Architects to work on the construction documents for the new towers of the World Trade Centre in New York followed the experience at DSAI.
After completing a five year work period as a member of the forward thinking and innovative architectural team at HOK Architects in Toronto as a project manager and design architect, Michele joined an incredibly talented group of professionals and industry leaders at CANNONDESIGN as a project architect/project manager.
As of July 2015 Michele is part of CUMULUS ARCHITECTS: a new and innovative architecture and design firm located in Toronto’s Downtown. The firm is founded on the premise of team based design and integrated project delivery where design intelligence is the result of broad staff, consultant and client engagement in design.
Specialties: Michele is a strong advocate of the new typology of collaborative project delivery methods DB and IPD (Integrated Project Delivery). Involved in all aspects of project delivery, Michele has particular expertise in design and project management. He has strong communication skills and is experienced in coordinating the work of sub consultants and multidisciplinary project teams.
