What is the impact of climate policy on your architectural practice?
As governments around the world strive to achieve global climate objectives, architects are increasingly required to incorporate environmental and climate concerns into their design process. Ontario's Climate Action Plan is the most recent set of policies to propose significant changes to the building sector to drive deep cuts in greenhouse gas emissions. These policy and regulatory changes have often been enacted with little feedback from professionals in the sector on the impact of increased sustainability and energy efficiency standards.
How is the rise of sustainable building changing architecture in Ontario?
This survey provides Ontario architects an opportunity to inform the policy process by asking for their experiences with, and opinions of, components of sustainable architecture and energy efficiency. Questions cover such topics as green building tools, materials selection, energy modelling, building integrated renewable energy, and the role of clients in sustainable architecture.
