EQuilibriumâ„¢ Communities is a three-year, $4.2-million collaborative sustainable community demonstration initiative of Natural Resources Canada (NRCan) and Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC). A national competition was held to select projects that will work to improve community planning and develop healthy sustainable communities that are energy-efficient. These communities will demonstrate how the neighbourhood scale offers unique opportunities for integration across systems. Jamie Shipley
Jamie Shipley is a Senior Advisor, Research and Technology Transfer with Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation’s Ontario Business Centre. Jamie has over (20) years experience in the residential construction industry and he is a Graduate Technologist member of the Ontario Association of Certified Engineering Technicians and Technologists. Jamie has also developed and facilitated technical courses and presentations to the Ontario Real Estate Association and he provides guidance and assistance to the Ontario Business Centre on construction practices and industry trends.
Philip Jeung
Philip Jeung is the Director, Smart Buildings and Energy Management in the Finance Division at the Toronto Community Housing Corporation (TCHC). Currently, he is managing the ongoing Community Energy system development in Regent Park in conjunction with Regent Park Energy Inc. He is also involved in the roll-out of one of the largest Solar PV installations in Toronto under the FIT program in addition to other renewable energy plan to deploy Solar thermal, Solar Air heating, Geothermal and Distributed Generation system in achieving the 40% carbon emissions reduction by 2020 throughout the entire housing portfolio.
