In response to the lack of considered public debate surrounding the use of bike lanes in Toronto, the OAA co-sponsored, with the Centre for Urban Ecology, a workshop that focused on complete street issues and included cyclists, motorists, transit users, shop owners, taxis drivers and couriers. Students from the University of Toronto Planning Department prepared preliminary material and will write a report presenting the results to the City of Toronto Transportation committee. Thank-you to our members who helped by graphically representing ideas, and helped make this event a success.
The OAA mandate includes the promotion of good architecture and the built environment, and we are pleased to provide opportunities for our members to contribute to their communities in this way.
