Speaking Op: Design Charrettes

barrie Campus, Georgian College
sustainable Construction course

We are looking for a volunteer who has participated and better yet has lead a charrette for a sustainable building type project to come and present to the students to provide some anecdotal information on the do's and don’ts of a charrette.

This will assist with a term assignment for the class to develop an outline (not a full blown charrette)  for a design charrette for refurbishing a house to LEED standards.  Incorporating CMHC Factor 9 criteria for the integrative design categories or the Desigh Charrette Outline.   One of the other classes in the program will be involved in actual design contributions to a business’ building refurbish project in Collingwood where a design charrette will actually take place for this work and they will be able to benefit from the learning in my course.
