Several OAA members received recognition at the 2011 Housing and Design Awards. 

Here is the list of OAA winners of the 2011 Housing Design Awards, organized by the Greater Ottawa Home Builders’ Association and announced Saturday at a gala dinner at the Ottawa Convention Centre:

• Large builder single detached 3,500 sq. ft. or more — Uniform Urban Developments and Barry J. Hobin & Assoc. Architects Inc.
• Custom homes 2,400 sq. ft. or less — Christopher Simmonds Architect Inc.
• Custom homes 2,401 to 3,999 sq. ft. — Barry J. Hobin & Assoc. Architects Inc. and Roca Homes
• Custom homes 4,000 to 5,999 sq. ft. — RND Construction Ltd. and Linda Chapman Architect
• Custom urban infill — Christopher Simmonds Architect Inc.
• Housing development of the year — Uniform Urban Developments and Barry J. Hobin & Assoc. Architects Inc.
• Custom kitchens 159 sq. ft. or less — Christopher Simmonds Architect Inc.
• Open category, entire home — Christopher Simmonds Architect Inc.
• Housing details — Christopher Simmonds Architect Inc.
• Any room in the house — Christopher Simmonds Architect Inc.

Barry J. Hobin & Assoc. Architects Inc. and Roca Homes were finalists in the 2011 Housing Design Awards in the category of Custom Homes 2401 to 3999 sq. ft.

Architect Chris Simmonds won four trophies including the people’s choice at a design gala in Ottawa Oct 17, 2009. On Oct. 22, he topped that number of wins with six awards at the 2011 Housing Design Awards.
