In Memoriam- Peter Williamson-Hamilton

HAMILTON, Peter Williamson- passed away peacefully at home with his daughters by his side on Monday, August 22, 2011 in his 71st year. Architect, skier, sailor and squash champion, Peter was the beloved husband of the late Linda Hamilton, loved and loving father of Kara and Alissa, dear brother of Ian and Hugh, and loving companion of Ina. 

A graduate of UofT Architecture ‘63 and Harvard Graduate School of Design ’69, Peter worked in Helsinki and Paris for 3 years before returning to Toronto to start his practice in 1969.  He was a quiet and gentle man who spoke boldly through his work.  Ontario landmarks include:  2 Hedgewood Road; Millcroft Inn; Jesse Ketchum Daycare; Kramer Design Associates, 103 Dupont St.; and Cottage Island 254C Georgian Bay.  Peter taught for many years at UofT and Ryerson.  He was honored to be a Fellow of the Royal Architectural Institute of Canada and member of the Royal Canadian Academy of Arts.
