Canadian Centre for Architecture, Montreal
Royal Architectural Institute of Canada (RAIC)
RAIC is a voluntary national association that was established in 1907 to represent the practice of architecture in Canada . It currently has more than 3 200 architect members from every region of the country. RAIC provides a national framework for the development and recognition of architectural excellence.
Canadian Architectural Certification Board (CACB)
The CACB is a national organization responsible for reviewing and certifying the education and credentials of individuals applying to practise architecture in Canada . Under the Canadian Constitution, education and licensing for professional practice of architecture falls under the jurisdiction of Canada ’s provinces and territories. The CACB has developed mechanisms to ensure architects across Canada possess comparable levels of education. The CACB, which has the support of all provinces and territories, is responsible for accrediting professional degree programs in Canadian university schools of architecture.
Canadian Architecture Students Association (CASS)
The objective of CASS is to represent architectural students in Canada and to foster communication among Canadian students, their respective architectural schools, and the Canadian architectural community. The CASS Web site provides information about student projects and upcoming architectural lectures.
The American Institute of Architects (AIA)
The AIA is an association with over 77 000 members. The association promotes excellence in architectural design communities and requires its members to adhere to a code of ethics and to professional conduct guidelines that assure high standards of professional practice.
