In celebration of Earth Day in April, mcCallumSather is pleased to present “Building for a Living Planet: Exploring the Role of Architecture in a Sustainable World,” an evening dedicated to sustainable architecture and honoring the legacy of mcCallumSather’s co-founder, Joanne McCallum. Joanne recently announced her plans to retire at the end of February 2025.
This special gathering will bring together industry leaders, organizations, and professionals to explore architecture’s role in shaping a sustainable future. The evening will feature a distinguished lineup of speakers, a thought-provoking panel discussion, and a celebratory reception in honor of Joanne McCallum’s contributions to the industry.
Keynote Speaker: Dr. David Suzuki
Renowned scientist and environmentalist Dr. David Suzuki will deliver the keynote address, Humanity at a Crossroads: Transformation or Extinction. Drawing on decades of experience, he will discuss our environmental impact, the need to rethink societal priorities, and the urgency of restoring Earth’s sustainable productivity. His compelling insights will inspire attendees to prioritize environmental responsibility in architectural practice.
Panel Discussion & Q&A
A dynamic panel discussion will further explore how design can create resilient, regenerative communities. Panelists include:
