ICKE BROCHU Architects Inc. are located at Portland and Wellington Street West in downtown Toronto. The firms’ portfolio focuses on single, multi-family and seniors residential developments within the Greater Toronto area.
We are currently seeking an Architect with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience that will work close with the principals from the initial design stage. The candidate must have strong conceptual design skills in 2D and 3D formats, project management experience and the ability to produce design drawings for City Application Submissions. Applicants should have a strong knowledge of Building Systems, the Ontario Building Code and the ability to develop and coordinate design documents with minimal supervision. We are looking for an individual with broad expertise and experience in the residential discipline.
Qualifications
- Degree in Architecture and registered with the OAA
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Proficient in AutoCAD 2025 and Sketch-up 3D modeling
- Adept using Adobe Creative Suite package
- Knowledge of the OBC, specifically Parts 3 and 9
- Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Word, Power point and Excel
- Ability to work well with clients, consultants, authorities having jurisdiction and colleagues
Duties/Responsibilities
- Ability to create initial design concepts
- Preparation of presentation material for client and city submissions
- Ability to manage projects and ensure the flow of information within the project team
- Identify and solve technical design issues
- Develop architectural drawings from preliminary design through the construction document stage
- Coordination of architectural and consultants drawings as required
- Perform industry research including: the building code, city by-law information and general design research
Salary range: $70 000.00 - $80,000.00 / annually. Commensurate with experience and qualifications.
