Who we are:

Weatherston Architects, also operating under WeatherstonBruer Associates, specialize in the design of museum exhibitions both locally and internationally. Current clients include art museums, Indigenous cultural centres, natural history museums and visitor centres. 


Who we are looking for:

We are currently seeking a recent graduate from an architectural or interior design program with up to 3 years experience in a related field. Exhibition design requires a broad skill set in order to translate visions from curators, historians and subject matter experts into designs that tell a story. Experience/interests in graphic design, writing and curatorial work are valued in addition to standard architectural skills. A love of museums, art and cultural spaces is a must!

 

Responsibilities: As a small office, you will be involved in numerous projects at various stages of development.

  • Work with senior designers to develop and refine design concepts
  • Develop architectural drawings through detail design 
  • 3d modelling (Rhino) and rendering (VRay)
  • Assist in the preparation of presentations and documentation packages
  • Participate in visioning workshops, client meetings and site visits
  • Create and manage content spreadsheets 
  • Architectural coordination


Qualifications and Skills

  • A recent graduate from a recognized school of Architecture or Interior Design (MArch preferred but not required)
  • Excellent 3d modelling skills (Rhino preferred)
  • Experience rendering using VRay
  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite
  • Applicant must demonstrate excellent English writing and communication skills
  • Ability to multitask and work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Must be self-motivated and driven to work independently 
  • Team driven attitude and good sense of humour!

Position Details:

  • Salary minimum $58,000.00 commensurate with experience
  • Summer Hours
  • Primarily In-person work
