OUR LOCATION

Our studio is located in a historic building along the Grand River in downtown Galt, part of the vibrant Gaslight District. Just steps from the University of Waterloo School of Architecture, the area offers walkable urban amenities, great food and coffee, and easy access to nature with trails, green spaces, and even spots for kayaking.

THE ROLE

As an Intermediate Architectural Technologist at Fabrik, you’ll work closely with our team to bring design concepts into fully realized projects—leading production, collaborating across disciplines, and contributing to all phases of design.

We’re looking for someone with:

• A diploma or degree from a recognized Architectural Technology program
  
• Minimum 5 years of professional experience in the Ontario architectural industry
  
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit (required)
  
• Strong knowledge of the Ontario Building Code and municipal zoning bylaws
  
• Ability to coordinate complete drawing sets for permit, tender, and construction
  
• Working knowledge of construction methods, detailing, and building systems
  
• Excellent project management, time management, and communication skills
  
• Ability to review junior staff work, coordinate with consultants, and liaise with clients
  
• A collaborative, proactive attitude and attention to detail
  
• Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle

Nice to have (assets):

• Licensed Technologist with the OAA
  
• Experience with mid-rise multi-residential projects
  
• Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop)
  
• An eye for design quality and final drawing presentation
  
  What You’ll Do:
  

• Prepare detailed architectural drawings from schematic design through construction
  
• Lead and coordinate documentation for permit, tender, and construction
  
• Collaborate with architects, consultants, and clients throughout the design process
  
• Participate in site visits, construction reviews, and contract administration
  
• Support design development with technical input and code compliance
  
• Contribute to process improvement and project planning

Salary Range:

$60,000.00–$85,000.00 annually, commensurate on experience.
