Di Maio Design Associates Architect is an architectural practice experienced with all forms of construction and project delivery across building typologies, including institutional, commercial, hospitality, residential and educational.
Our team members are involved with many aspects of every project. We are looking for individuals who possess strong design capability, have a sound understanding of building science, are detail oriented, and care about their work. We expect individuals to contribute to a collaborative office culture, a culture which is based on contribution, communication, and accountability.
Candidates shall be able to prepare architectural working drawings & construction details, and specifications, in a collaborative and team environment with a focus on quality control. The candidate should be self-motivated, sincere, conscientious and detail oriented with strong communication skills in a professional manner. Candidates, in addition to participating in business development activities, should have sound management skills and enjoy working on technical aspects of architectural projects in a fast paced and supportive environment. Must be highly experienced with Revit and AutoCAD software (latest edition), Sketchup and proficient with MS Office productivity software. An intermediate to senior level of familiarity with the Ontario Building Code and knowledge of building science and construction detailing will be an asset, along with a strong motivation for continual learning.
Job Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture or equivalent.
- Registered with the OAA as an Intern Architect or Licensed Architect.
- 6+ years architectural experience
- Excellent design and communications skills (verbal and written)
- Solid working knowledge of the OBC, AODA, and other applicable regulations an asset
- Strong focus on accuracy, efficiency and critical thinking
- Confident managing all aspects of a project and the coordination of consultants
- General understanding of all phases of project document production and the relationship between drawings and specifications
- Ability to participate and collaborate in project team setting and to engage in creative, critical and pragmatic thought
- Field experience on construction sites, conducting general reviews for compliance with drawings and specifications and writing reports
Responsibilities include:
- Work independently and collaboratively on multiple projects with team as deliverables require
- Manage multiple projects of various sizes
- Produce high-quality designs, construction drawings, and details
- Create tender documents and maintain accurate construction administration documents
- Manage communication with project consultants, and act as a liaison with clients
- Present technical material effectively to clients and consultants
- Ensure flow of information within team and office
We offer competitive salaries and comprehensive benefits package. This position has a salary range of $55,000.00 to $70,000.00
