Senior Architectural Technologist/Project Manager (On-site)

ZO1 Architects is a progressive architectural firm specializing in small to large-scale, high-density and
multi-phase developments from concept design to construction completion. We are a group of passionate
architects and interior designers who has extensive design and development experience in the Greater
Toronto Area.
Our portfolio of work is diverse. We are currently working on a wide range of projects from low to high-rise
to large-scale mixed-use development. We are specialized in residential, senior living, long-term care,
retail commercial, luxury hotel and office. Most of our projects are working directly with established
developers or non-profit organization in the Greater Toronto Area.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 10 years of direct experience in a Senior Architectural Technologist role.

  • Excellent working knowledge of Revit software a requirement, at least 10 yr minimum Revit experience is a must.

  • Successfully graduated of Architecture program, we support successful candidate to be OAA/

  • OACETT licensed

  • Experience and expertise particularly in high density residential, hotel, commercial, low rise wood frame, or senior living (assist/ life-lease).

  • Experience in all project phases, including client communication, consultant coordination, design development, drawing review, and contract administration.

  • Extensive knowledge and usage of Part 3 and Part 9 of the Ontario Building Code (OBC).

  • Excellent in verifying planning regulations, heritage, safety, and environmental standards across all project stages.

  • Excellent in production of architectural details such as plan/ section details in 1:10, 1:5, 1:2 and organizing wall/ floor/ ceiling types in Ontario/ GTA context.

  • Execute drawings and specifications to ensure accuracy and completeness and review the work of junior team members.

  • Advance knowledge in wall/ ceiling types and building science on envelope and carry forward the elevation design and materials use to develop plan/ section details.

  • Model and set out the wall and floor with proper relationship with slab/ curb.

  • Experience with construction administration activities, including shop drawing review, specifications, and site instructions. Ensure compliance with design documents and project specifications

  • Create and manage deficiencies and punch lists

  • Lead the translation of the project design intent through technical documentation and construction phases to completion

  • Lead the production of construction documentation for various building types from conception to completion.

  • Collaborate on multiple projects with internal team members and external consultants, taking projects from design development to construction completion.

  • Act as a trusted advisor in coordinating with consultants and identifying high-level technical solutions as problems arise.

  • Provide specialized knowledge by advising on materials, technology, and processes involved in building design, while applying a thorough understanding of building science methodologies.

  • Work with the principal/partner in charge to set priorities, establish and maintain a work schedule, and proactively report on scheduling issues.

  • Stay at the forefront of industry advancements by keeping up-to-date with legislation, standards, and technological innovations in the field.

  • Exhibit strong leadership and relationship-building skills, while mentoring and coaching junior team members.

  • Excellent time management skills. Able to manage a number of tasks on multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Exceptional communication skills that facilitate effective mentoring and team leadership

  • Must live in Canada currently and have legal authorization to work in Canada

Offered compensation will be based on individual qualifications. The expected range is: $75,00.00 -
$100,000
