OAA Responds to the Consultation on Reducing Regulatory Burden in the Ontario Building Code

OAA President, Lara McKendrick, writes to the Building Code Short-term Advisory Body, in response to the consultation on reducing regulatory burden in the Ontario Building Code. The OAA's submission confirms the Association's support for efforts that enable more efficient and affordable housing delivery while maintaining the safety, accessibility, and performance standards that protect the public interest. It also offers recommendations to modify the Code in order to improve clarity, consistency and predictability in the regulatory framework, to harmonize with the National Codes on building performance, and to further support innovation.
