The renovation and extension of Casey House, a specialized healthcare facility for individuals with HIV/AIDS, is inspired by the concept of an ‘embrace.’ The design program seeks to meet the needs of patients and healthcare providers in a setting designed to evoke the experience and comforts of home.
The new extension reaches over and around the existing heritage-designated Victorian mansion that has been restored to retain its original character. A robust, textured exterior surrounds the central courtyard; beautifully landscaped and alive, it is visible from every corridor and in-patient room.
