At the 2025 Annual General Meeting (AGM), held on April 8, the OAA honoured its newest Members of Long Standing—individuals who have achieved the milestone of 50 years of membership with the OAA, contributing to Ontario’s architecture profession.

Among this year’s honourees was Aleksandar Sasha Milenov.

Aleksandar Sasha Milenov is a distinguished architect and planner with more than six decades of professional experience. He graduated from the University of Belgrade School of Architecture in 1960 and earned a Master of Science in Planning in 1967. After immigrating to Toronto in 1968, Sasha became a member of the Town Planning Institute of Canada in 1969 and joined the OAA in 1974. 

Establishing his solo architectural practice in 1978, Sasha has delivered architectural and planning services to a broad range of clients, including private sector organizations, municipal governments, and public agencies. Renowned for his dedication and innovative approach, Sasha’s work reflects a commitment to fostering sustainable and functional urban environments.

At 88 years old, Sasha remains actively engaged in his profession, driven by an enduring passion for design and planning, with no intention of retiring anytime soon.
