At the 2025 Annual General Meeting (AGM), held on April 8, the OAA honoured its newest Members of Long Standing—individuals who have achieved the milestone of 50 years of membership with the OAA, contributing to Ontario’s architecture profession.
Among this year’s honourees was Charles Bunker.

Charles Bunker began his architectural career as a draftsperson with John B. Parkin Architects from 1962 to 1964. He earned his Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Miami in 1970 and, two years later, completed a Master of Architecture degree at Kansas State.
From 1972 to 1985, Charles served as Manager of Interior Design at NORR Architects, where he honed his expertise in both design and project management. Since 1985, he has operated his own architectural practice, Charles G. Bunker Architect Inc., focusing on residential projects with a select number of commercial endeavours.

Charles resides in a notable "Trend House" in Toronto, designed and once inhabited by renowned architect Eric Arthur. Built in 1956, this home was part of a program promoting wood construction in residential architecture. The legacy of Eric Arthur continues to inspire Charles in both his work and life.
