At the 2025 Annual General Meeting (AGM), held on April 8, the OAA honoured its newest Members of Long Standing—individuals who have achieved the milestone of 50 years of membership with the OAA, contributing to Ontario’s architecture profession.
Among this year’s honourees was Peter Turner.
Peter Turner, founding principal of Turner Fleischer, has been a driving force behind the firm’s success and reputation for more than 50 years. A graduate of the University of Toronto and the Harvard Graduate School of Design, Peter’s contributions to the architectural and construction industries have garnered widespread recognition. A Fellow of the Royal Architectural Institute of Canada and a Registered Professional Planner, he frequently serves as an expert urban design witness at the Ontario Municipal Board and has contributed to the OAA Practice Committee and Design Review Panels for the Cities of Vaughan and Mississauga.

Known for his innovative strategies, Peter uses a dialectic approach to develop multi-faceted, practical, and aesthetically pleasing design solutions. Beyond his project work, Peter is committed to mentorship, guiding emerging talent through the TF Academy, Turner Fleisher’s in-studio learning program, and encouraging a deeper understanding of urban design and city-building. His legacy lies not only in Turner Fleischer’s impact on the built environment, but also in the generations of architects he has inspired.
