Windsor Superior Court by William Kachmaryk

Having designed a new addition to the Superior Court in Windsor, another interesting request by the local Law Society was to present an option to the Government for a new Windsor Provincial Courts facility. The design would counter the proposal done by the Ontario in-house design team.

The site was that of the abandoned Steinberg's Department/Grocery Outlet along the esplanade vista, featuring Wind City Hall in the central business district.

The courts on two levels are as shown on the westerly site component, with an esplanade pedestrian walk-through one block north to the Detroit River. The easterly component of the complex (not shown) was designed to accommodate the new Windsor Police Headquarters.

Approximately 40 years later, a new Provincial Courts facility arrived to neighbour the new Windsor Casino/Hotel Megaplex, concurrent with "Urban Renewal."
