Keep Calm and Climate On

Description

The session opens with a reflection on the enduring brilliance of nature. This is followed by the presentation and discussion of four strategic themes that offer paths to assurance in design through alignment with Nature. The themes include creative hospitality, intrepid preparedness, functional utility, and environmental integrity. The session concludes with a reflection on the ways the discussed themes offer paths to growth in architectural practice through a deeper relationship developed with Nature.

Presenters: 


Ted Wilson, Lecturer, McEwen School of Architecture, Laurentian University
Ted Wilson teaches building environmental performance and design at the McEwen School of Architecture (MSoA) in Sudbury, Ontario. Prior to his academic career, Ted held responsibilities as President for architectural practices in Ontario and across Canada.  He also served as President of the Ontario Association of Architects in 2025. He continues to explore and share the natural wonders of the North, He is very grateful for the opportunities to share and learn with the Anishinaabe community. Sharing through this OAA Continuing Education Series is part of an expression of appreciation to the community.

Attendance Policy: Members are required to attend at least 80% of a webinar in order to qualify for Continuing Education learning hours.

Cancellation Policy: Cancellations must be made at least 48 hours prior to the webinar in order to receive a refund. Webinar fees are not refunded if the cancellation is received after the deadline or if you are unable to attend.
