The 14-storey Academic Wood Tower is a hybrid mass timber and steel structure that embodies the future of sustainable architecture. It’s already a recipient of the Canadian Architect Award of Excellence and will serve as a model for academic buildings of the future.
Designed by Patkau Architects and MJMA, and constructed by Pomerleau, this landmark project showcases the use of Western Archrib supplied prefabricated glulam components, including many pre-installed steel connections to streamline on-site assembly, through our collaboration with Timber Systems.
You’ll be guided through the site by MJMA and WoodWorks, who will offer insights into the design, structure, and sustainability elements of this significant mass timber initiative.
