Eileen Gray and the House by the Sea: MidMod Movies XIV

MidMod Movies is back for its 14th season!

Join us in person once again for this popular annual documentary film series of unique, critically-acclaimed movies from around the world that feature Mid-Century and Modernist architecture and design. Presented in partnership with Forest City Modern.

On October 9th, MidMod XIV will be showing Eileen Gray and the House by the Sea, directed by Beatrice Minger & Christoph Schaub. Irish designer Eileen Gray built a refuge on the Côte d‘Azur in 1929. Her first house is a discrete, avant-garde masterpiece. Le Corbusier, upon discovering the house, became intrigued and obsessed. This is a story about the power of one woman’s creative expression and a man’s desire to control it.
