Get an early look at George Brown College's newest academic building. A feat of innovation, this project was launched through an international design competition as a net-zero carbon, future proofed, Toronto Green Standard Tier 4,10-storey mass timber, assembly occupancy academic building.
Join ULI Toronto to learn about the most stand-out features of the building, including: the solar chimneys and natural ventilation approach; high-performance prefabricated façade enclosures and daylight harvesting; district heating and cooling (no gas fired equipment); unique fire protection systems for the interconnected spaces; 9m span timber-concrete composite beamless floor construction; and the staggering 3-storey mass timber columns in the Learning Landscape social commons space on the ground floor.
This warm and healthy building will provide learning and collaboration spaces for George Brown’s Architectural Technology students and is a beacon of progress for the sustainable building landscape in Toronto and beyond.
