Newcomer in Architecture Information Session 2023

Are you an internationally trained architect and new to Canada? Wondering about paths to practice and where to start when obtaining your licence? Looking for resources and more information about the roles of local organisations? This event is perfect for you!

Join the Toronto Society of Architects for a special information session with representatives of the Canadian Architectural Certification Board (CACB) and the Ontario Association of Architects (OAA) as they discuss some of the different paths to practice in Canada for internationally trained architectural professionals. They’ll cover a wide variety of programs including Accreditation, Academic Certification, and the Broadly Experienced Foreign Architects Program, as well as existing mutual recognition treaties and licensure. Speakers will also clarify what is a Building Code Identification Number (BCIN) and its limitations, as well as important regulatory aspects to keep in mind when transitioning your career to Ontario. The session will end with a moderated Q&A session providing you an opportunity to ask all those burning questions you have!

So, if you’re an internationally trained professional looking to continue your career in Canada, don’t miss out on this opportunity to understand the ins and outs of architectural licensing and practice in Canada.
