The Toronto Metropolitan University, Department of Architectural Science will be hosting an internationally recognized architecture exhibition about women in architecture entitled
Buone Nuove: Good News from Italy, and has issued an open call for participation.
The exhibition first opened at the MAXXI museum in Rome in 2022. After travelling to Stockholm, Doha, New Delhi and Berlin,
Buone Nuove/Good News will open at TMU’s Paul H. Cocker Gallery in the Department of Architectural Science for its inaugural North American showing on
September 5, 2024.
Curated by Pippo Ciorra, Elena Motisi and Elena Tinacci, this travelling exhibition features works and words of dozens of Italian and global women architects who are empowering a new generation of inclusive city-builders and have changed the field of architecture. To complement the exhibition, TMU is curating a display of women architects working in and around Toronto who are impacting communities and the city through built works, practice innovation, leadership, mentorship, and advocacy.
