The Panamerican Architecture Biennial of Quito (BAQ 2024) returns this November for its 25th edition, offering a platform for Canadian architects to showcase their talents on an international stage. Since its inception in 1978, coinciding with Quito, Ecuador's designation as a UNESCO World Heritage site, the BAQ has established itself as a major event in the Americas, celebrating architectural innovation and excellence.
This year’s biennial features three types of competition categories, including the Panamerican, Habitat, and Publication awards categories. The Panamerican award includes categories such as Single-Family House, Multi-Unit Housing, and Public Space for projects built on the American continent between 2018 and 2022. The Habitat award, meanwhile, focuses on categories like Multi-Unit Housing and Sustainable Architecture, applicable to global projects completed between 2020 and 2024. Finally, the Publication award accepts Printed or Digital Books, Magazines, and Blogs published on the American continent from 2018 to 2022.

Complementing the seminar are a series of cultural events, including artistic performances, exhibitions, and networking opportunities, designed to deepen participants’ connection with Ecuadorian capital’s vibrant community.
