Are the winners of the “To the Loo” global challenge blushing over their flushing designs?
Recently, the Toronto Public Space Committee, in partnership with
Cyan Station Architecture, revealed the winners for the design challenge
that was created to address the critical shortage of public washrooms
in Toronto.
The competition sought innovative and bold ideas for multi-user and
single-user washroom hubs that integrate spatial justice, accessibility,
sustainability and cultural inclusion, states a release.
The goal of the competition was to show the City of Toronto washrooms can be an inspiring part of the public realm.
