Council Action Stemming from Commitment to Equity, Diversity, and Inclusivity
At its September 24 meeting, OAA Council agreed to implement a demographic survey of its members that collects race-based and other equity-relevant data to provide a baseline for measuring progress as the Association works to better ensure equity, diversity, and inclusivity in the profession.
As part of a long-term data-collection strategy, the OAA is working with human rights and equity specialist Nicole Bernhardt
to develop the survey, ensuring it protects the confidentiality of personal information and respects the dignity of those participating.
The results of the survey will then be made accessible and transparent to the public and to members of the profession. More information will be forthcoming shortly.
