Sudbury's snowflake-shaped tourist attraction is on this year's list of Queen's Park Picks, an initiative of the Ontario Association of Architects (OAA) that highlights the unique architectural heritage of a community.
Science North is one of nine buildings chosen by a panel of judges from 41 nominations submitted by members of provincial parliament.
Now in its 11th year, the Queen's Park Picks aims to celebrate the rich legacy of architecture in Ontario. This year's theme, ‘Collaboration Powering Innovation,’ aligns with the OAA's 2026 conference, which was held last May in Waterloo.
“This year's theme, ‘Collaboration Powering Innovation,’ speaks to the heart of how great buildings come to life," Lara McKendrick, president of the OAA council, said in a news release.
