The 11th annual TimberFever Design-Build Competition, presented by Moses Structural Engineers, concluded this past weekend at Toronto Metropolitan University. This year’s theme, Third Spaces, challenged architecture and civil engineering students from universities across Canada and the U.S. to design and build welcoming spaces that fostered connection and community.
Sixteen teams collaborated across the three-day competition, supported by industry mentors and Carpenters Union (Local 27), to showcase their creativity, teamwork, and woodworking skills.
Taking first place this year was "
20^2 (Twenty Squared)". "
Komorebi" and "
Point Three" claimed second and third places, respectively. A new Accessibility Award, inspired by sponsor StopGap, highlighted the importance of inclusive, barrier-free design in public and community spaces.
The public can still participate by
voting online for the Public Vote Award.
