Doors Open Toronto is an annual event when buildings of architectural, historic, cultural, and social significance open to the public. The OAA is participating again this year, opening its Headquarters at 111 Moatfield Drive the weekend of May 27 and 28, 10 am to 5 pm.
Having completed its Renew + Refresh renovation project, the OAA welcomes visitors to explore the building and learn about the many upgrades and updates in pursuit of zero net carbon performance at a critical point. Guided tours will be at 11 am and 1 pm daily, led by architects involved with the renovation—Sheena Sharp and David Fujiwara. They will look at the components chosen to meet this goal, including an energy-efficient geothermal system, solar panels, improved daylighting, motion sensors and LED fixtures, flexible meeting spaces, and tint-changing dynamic windows.
