There’s a memory Joan Herzog has of her husband, Saul Herzog, sitting in his wheelchair, playing a Gershwin tune on his tenor sax.
“Music and art were his great passions,” she said of the man who spent a lifetime letting his creativity guide him to new and often unexpected places.
In 1996, Saul, an architect, retired as professor of design at the University of Waterloo School of Planning, following a career that started with designing buildings and finished as a much-loved teacher.
