Admission Course Overview

The OAA Admission Course is a mandatory requirement for licensure for all Intern Architects in Ontario. The course covers topics related to regulatory matters, legal issues, and information specific to the practice of architecture in Ontario.

The following Admission Course modules must be completed. They can be taken in a single year or spread out over a few.

01AC Professional Responsibility, Ethics, and Membership in a Self-Regulating Profession
02AC Construction Act
03AC Legal Aspects: Professional Liability and Architects’ Contracts
04AC Planning and Development Approvals
05AC The Building Code Act and the Building Permit Application Process
06AC Ontario Building Code Compliance Data: Concepts and Code Analysis
07AC Bid Theory and Bid Practice
08AC Contract Administration and General Review

The Admission Course is offered in an Online format.

Intern Architects: The OAA Admission Course is not intended to be an exam preparatory course. It is a foundational piece created as a practical tool that supplements your work experience.
