The OAA kicked off the registration for its annual Conference in May with a special event to set the stage for this year's theme, Inspiring Climate Action.
Celebrated climate scientist, writer, and speaker, Katharine Hayhoe, gave a FREE virtual Keynote presentation on Tuesday, March 22 at 1:00 pm, sharing her take on the climate crisis and how she bridges the gap between science and stakeholders. If you did not get to check it out, the presentation is now available on demand, on the OAA's YouTube channel (link provided below)
Hayhoe’s work focuses on understanding what climate change means for people and the places where we live. She is the Chief Scientist for The Nature Conservancy and a Horn Distinguished Professor and Endowed Professor of Public Policy and Public Law in the Department of Political Science at Texas Tech University. Hayhoe hosts the PBS digital series Global Weirding and her book, Saving Us: A Climate Scientist’s Case for Hope and Healing in a Divided World, was released in September 2021.
