ConEd Non-Compliance

Cycle 2022-2024: July 1, 2022 – June 30, 2024

Non-Compliance with the ConEd Program

As of July 1, 2018, the OAA implemented automatic administrative fines for any applicable members who do not complete their mandatory Continuing Education hours or record them in the OAA’s online transcript before the end of the cycle.

Fines
First time late: $500
Every subsequent time late: $1,000

These fines do not replace the current Complaints and Discipline process. Moreover, the fines are in addition to any decision and order of the Discipline Committee with regard to non-compliance with the mandatory Continuing Education Program. Anyone who does not pay the fine may have their licence cancelled.

Continuing Education activities must be completed within the given cycle dates—currently July 1, 2022 – June 30, 2024. Once the ConEd Cycle ends, members who have completed their requirements are not to backdate Continuing Education learning activities. Once the cycle ends, OAA members do not have access to their transcript.

If exceptional circumstances have prevented an OAA member from meeting the ConEd requirements, those circumstances should be made known to the Continuing Education program staff at oaaconed@oaa.on.ca.

Applications under the OAA Leave Policy, which may allow relief of some portion of the ConEd, can be sent for consideration to OAA Executive Assistant Tina Carfa.
